Wireless Sensors

NextGen is currently designing a small multi-purpose sensor with wireless capabilities. The overall package consists of three interlocking parts: a battery pack to power the whole system, a processor unit with a microcontroller and radio module inside, and a sensor component with an accelerometer or other sensor. This sensor is intended to be hot-swappable, with the software detecting the type of sensor and adjusting data collection parameters accordingly. Sensors are networked so that a base station can detect and collect data from several sensors at once.
