NextGen Aeronautics awarded Phase II on Fretting Fatigue Modeling and Life Prediction from NAVAIR
5/20/2007
NextGen Aeronautics was awarded a Phase II contract to develop technology demonstrated in Phase I. The Phase I effort successfully demonstrated initiation and crack growth under fretting using the state-of-art SimLabTM simulation framework powered by the BEASYTM Boundary element crack growth and Safe Technology fe-safeTM durability engines.

NextGen Aeronautics has been awarded a Phase I SBIR from the US Navy on Fretting Fatigue Modeling and Life Prediction. The objective of this program is to develop and demonstrate advanced modeling techniques and programs that can be used to accurately characterize aircraft engine systems component (and/or sub-component) to determine fretting fatigue and life prediction. The target technology areas addressed by this research are air platform and materials and processes for the JSF program.
