Prototyping, with Modern Craftsmanship

NextGen has demonstrated expertise in fabricating, assembling, and testing sophisticated wind tunnel models, flight vehicles, deep-sea pressure vessels and robotic systems.

Our team builds precision components and complex systems. We have a full-service fabrication shop. We cut the metal, lay up the composites, assemble the components, integrate the controls, and operate the result.

Check out the video to see some examples of our work.

NextGen provides critical fabrication & assembly support to partner AeroVironment and other system integrators at our facility in
St. George, Utah.

Utah Congressman Chris Stewart and Mr. Wahid Nawabi, AeroVironment President & CEO, toured the NextGen fab facility on 19 Oct 2022.

Wind Tunnel Models

A niche expertise is in designing and building and testing subsonic and transonic aeroelastic wind tunnels with integrated sensors and actuators. We have built and tested such models for DARPA, NGC, LM, Embraer, Gulfstream, and other customers. We have tested over a dozen such models at the NASA Langley Transonic Dynamic wind Tunnel (TDT).

Flight Vehicles

Flight vehicles include in-flight morphing aircraft, UAVs with integrated sensors and antennas, small backpackable hand launched UAVs and small UAV swarms.
We have extensive capabilities and equipment for fabricating sophisticate metal and composite structures and assemblies and rapid production of Group 1 and Group 2 UAVs.

Custom Fabrication

We've been developing prototypes for years, but not all of our clients need a whole airplane. We can fabricate-to-print or build custom solutions. CNC machining, tool and mold design, composite layups, assembly, and full system testing. Even if your project doesn't have wings, we can build it with you.
